Don't Work for Money

Not because you are being paid for something that you do you have to be a slave for money You should command how much people should pay you and not the other way around.

Also don't overcharge, clients will not go back for your services. They know kung binabarat ka nila (which they often do, but not to me, gago ba sila) o hindi...In my case, clients find my rates cheap (yun pala yon, nag p promote hehehe) kasi I give them good rates, price that I think I deserve. Anyway i'm having fun doing these things...mag design, website, photography, labada, lahat na...minsan I get a project kahit mababa just to be challenged, that I know i'll learn something from it.

Start small (but not that small), think Chinese, wag mo muna isipin ang tubo, kelangan madami cliente. When clients starts trusting your works kahit mag mahal ka sa susunod na projects hindi ka nila hihindian kasi they know you can be trusted, and syempre dapat good works.

Gumbo Restaurant - SM Mall of Asia

Last Saturday my girlfriend and I planned to watch Madagascar 2 at the SM Mall of Asia, showed the same schedule as James Bond's Quantum of Solace, more than half of the 12 (or is it 10) cinemas presents the Bond movie and only one for Madagascar. All of those who wants to see the animated film will only go to that one cinema so we don't expect we can see it, and yes we didn't.

Puno...and we're not in the mood to watch an action flick that day so we just stroll around.

We went to Gumbo instead.

First thing you'll notice (or even outside) are the staff wearing Mardi Gras head dresses. We sat near the entrance to see the fireworks later that night. Our server gave us the menu, taken our orders and gave us Buffalo Wings and Bread for appetizer. We ordered Puttanesca and Peppperoni Pizza and buti na lang we ordered "Petite". That was a huge and generous "Petite" serving good for 2-3 persons.

It has a happy and lively atmosphere (maingay, in a good way) singing "Happy Birthday" songs to the birthday celebrants.

The staff are so attentive and are always ready to serve, tingnan mo lang "costume" nila and mahuli ka, they'll ask you what you need.

Great night.

How Do I Save Money

SALARY
10% goes to ATM Savings Account
20% goes to Passbook-only Savings Account, but if you don’t have a Passbook Account try to get another ATM account (it’s easier) but do not put that ATM to your wallet.
70% divide into expenses. Take out expense budget for the next three days and deposit the rest into your ATM account.

SAVING MONEY:
- Try not to withdraw from your ATM. No money in your wallet usually means less spending.
- Don’t buy drinks in restaurants; drink the house water or order a hot tea (it's refillable with hot water)...or bring a tumbler
- Don't put a lot of money inside your wallet. just bring enough like 2k.

EARN MONEY:
- Sell stuffs that you dont need no matter how trivial it is like old magazines, books etc
- Learn a craft or two and earn from it.

SPENDING MONEY:
- If you can't afford it now, don't buy it.
- Compare prices.
- Try generic branded items like SM Best Buy or ShopWise brands.
- Large quantities are always less expensive.
- Buy quality clothes. yes, it's somewhat expensive but buying clothes and shoes that will last saves money in the long run.
- Before any purchase, ask yourself if it is a want or a need
- Don't be an emotional shopper
- When it comes to clothes or shoes, stick with classic styles. Don't invest too much on trendy apparel that would easily go out of style.
- Consider buying pre-owned goods/items

salary - savings = expenses,
not: salary - expenses = savings

Live below your means

Live healthy, it will save you a lot on hospital bills in the long run.

I have this scheduling for my expenses...

Every 15th day Salary
- 6500 goes to my allowance
- 1500 for my phone bills
- Savings

Every 30th day Salary
- 6500 for my allowance
- 2000 my share for our rent and home expenses
- Savings

Onitsuka Tiger now open in Manila

Onitsuka Tiger has opened its shop in the Philippines at the Ground Floor of the newly opened Greenbelt 5 in Makati City.

The history of Onitsuka Tiger began with the establishment of Onitsuka Co. Ltd. in 1949. Based on the philosophy of bringing up sound youth through sports, the company has maintained the tradition of specializing in the manufacturing of sports shoes using original ideas and applying epoch-making techniques.

As the Japanese people recovered from the war and began to appreciate the benefits of sports, Onitsuka Tiger shoes were on their feet. The first basketball shoes in Japan had a tiger face design on the arch of the foot and this became Onitsuka's trademark.

In the 1960's, Onitsuka Tiger sports shoes were worn not only by the Japanese, but also by top foreign athletes.

I will take pics of their store the next time I visit.

Mexico starts at Php 5,200.00 quite pricey though but worth the experience of buying something in person than virtual (Ebay).
